Under the direction of the Manager, the Public Affairs Division facilitates relationships with issues, people and entities outside of Denver Water. The division responds to customer concerns and manages customer relations, maintains cooperative relationships with Denver City administration and governmental agencies whose sphere of operation affects Denver Water, coordinates the administration of distributor contracts, and facilitates Denver Water’s relations with its various publics.


  • Community Relations

    Community Relations is responsible for outreach to the general public and public groups to fully inform them about the purposes and programs of Denver Water and assure that program design and policies recognize community concerns. This section publishes newsletters for customers and employees, conducts speaking programs, conducts tours of water facilities and supervises the production and use of various brochures and visual media. This section also develops and coordinates communication with newspapers, radio and television.

  • Customer Service Field

    Customer Service Field section provides direct service to customers at their properties. This section inspects and installs new customer meters; assures compliance with Denver Water’s Engineering Standards and Operating Rules; tests and repairs meters; maintains and upgrades meters; and obtains timely, accurate meter readings for customer bills.

  • Water Conservation

    Water Conservation plans, develops, implements and coordinates implementation and communication of Denver Water's long-term water conservation plan, a plan to promote the efficient use of water throughout the Denver Water service area. In cooperation with the Planning Division, this section evaluates the results of the plan. This section also coordinates plans for water-efficient landscaping of Denver Water facilities and other public or private facilities.

  • Sales Administration

    Sales Administration administers all outside-city treated water distributor contracts and maintains all non-financial tap records. It works with Denver Water’s suburban distributors and new customers regarding tap connections, issues tap licenses, coordinates plan reviews for new installations, collects System Development and Participation Charges and serves as a liaison with the Denver City Development Review Committee.
