Vital reservoir project closing Waterton CanyonDenver Water’s Strontia Springs Reservoir will be dredged to remove at least 625,000 cubic yards of sediment — enough to fill the football field at Invesco to a height of more than 200 feet — that has filled the reservoir as a result of forest fires and subsequent intense rains. This large-scale project will require heavy machinery and equipment. To ensure the safety of those who recreate in the area, Waterton Canyon will be closed to the public for a number of months in 2010 and 2011 while the majority of the work takes place. |

Waste is out — even with summer heatThe summer heat is on! With these hot days, slightly increase the amount of water you apply to your lawn. Choose any three days of the week to water your lawn, and if we get a good rain, try watering only two days that week. With temperatures consistently above 85 degrees, it’s natural for most varieties of Kentucky bluegrass to go dormant. That means your grass may look less green and show a few brown spots, but it’s still healthy. Keep using only what you need. Learn more outdoor tips. |
