Customers’ bills started carrying a new look April 1, 2016, to accommodate changes to Denver Water’s rate structure.
Residential customers are still charged on a tiered structure — the more you use, the more you pay. Now the structure has three tiers instead of four, with the first and least expensive tier based on indoor use. This rate, known as average winter consumption, is calculated by averaging your monthly water consumption from January, February and March bills each year (beginning in 2016).
There is also a new rates structure for billing commercial, industrial and multifamily customers.
