Hiring Salary Range: $4,986.80 min $6,084.00 mid-point Monthly

Denver Water’s Operations and Maintenance Division Water Quality and Treatment Section is currently seeking a qualified candidate to assist us as a Water Quality Specialist under general supervision, perform physical, chemical, and bacteriological tests and analyses on a variety of environmental samples. Perform a variety of research and development activities related to various laboratory programs and operations. Maintain quality assurance program for the laboratory, maintain and generate reports, and assist supervisory and management staff in a variety of laboratory administrative duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform professional level water quality studies and analysis in compliance with the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), the Clean Water Act (CWA) and Colorado Regulation 84.
Perform professional level water quality studies and analysis to support internal and external stakeholder projects and programs.
Assist with developing programs and projects for internal customers (Treatment, Engineering, Planning, etc.).
Use data management and quality assurance systems to evaluate data integrity, produce reports, and interpret findings.
Contribute to the design and implementation of special studies on impacts to public health, including plant chemical contaminants, partial lead service line replacements, disinfection by-products and microbial contamination.
Perform related work as required.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Chemistry, Microbiology, Natural Resources or a related field. Minimum 5 years of related work experience. Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
Licenses, Registration and Certifications:
Class R Driver’s License.
