Denver Water is currently hiring for a Drafter/Drafter Sr. The right candidate will have a long term job opportunity with Denver Water.
Hiring Salary Range: $22.03 minimum $30.30 Mid-point
Full-Time/ 40Hours/Regular position.
Location of position: Main Campus

Denver Water's Engineering Division is currently seeking qualified candidates to fill a position in the Programs and Projects Design Drafting Section as a Drafter/Drafter Sr. The successful candidate, under supervision, primary responsibilities will be the creation of detailed computerized engineering construction drawings, maps, civil plan & profiles using AutoCAD Civil 3D, mechanical equipment and piping, and structural detailing for the infrastructure of Denver Water. Knowledge of Revit and BIM (Building Information Modeling) principles and practices is a plus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Obtains necessary information from records, survey notes and digital information. Make occasional field trips to obtain locations and takes measurements and photographs to revise maps, projects proposed improvements, and layout construction documents and working drawings.
Makes detailed drawings for reinforced concrete and steel structures from rough design notes. Draft Mechanical systems, pipelines, water conveyance structures, Treatment process, Dam and Recreational facilities, plans suitable for contract documents indicating property lines, building locations, rights-of-way, utilities, paving, electrical lines, lighting plans, and other installations and facilities. Create AutoCAD drawings for construction projects while adhering to established milestone time schedules and Denver Water AutoCAD standards. Lays-out structures, pipelines, pump stations, reservoirs, and dams, showing location and required detail of elements from field notes, digital information. Makes other drawings of equipment and facilities.
Prepares charts, graphs, and other exhibits, making mathematical calculations, applying art work and lettering, and prepares models for exhibits.
Advanced knowledge of drafting standards and practices.
Create As-Built drawings using AutoCAD, from survey data, inspector notes, and collected GPS points and redline drawings. Create ARG alignments for GIS mapping.
Perform status reports and arrange scanning for construction sets.
Performs related duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
Two years training from Technical College or Associate degree in computerized drafting.
Minimum 2 years of related work experience.
Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skill, knowledge, and abilities.
Licenses, Registration and Certifications:
May require possession of a standard driver’s license (ability to obtain within 1 month of hire.)
May require HIPAA Training.
