Hiring Salary Range
Records Management Analyst 
$5,825.73 (min) - $7,282.60 (mid) (DOQ)

Type of Position: Full-Time, 40 hrs/week               
Location of position: Denver Water’s Administration Building (1600 W. 12th Ave, Denver CO 80204)

JOB POSTING:

The Administrative Services Division at Denver Water is looking for a Record Management Analyst to join their team! This position will help guide the transformation of agency records management processes to address the challenges posed by electronic records, particularly working with unstructured data such as email and shared drives.  The successful candidate will implement a digital repository for permanent electronic records with an eye toward digital preservation.  They will have knowledge of repository platforms, metadata schemes, electronic records management, digital asset management, and be comfortable working across the organization to raise awareness around electronic records management and guide the adoption of best practices. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Records Management Analyst

  • Demonstrated experience with current digital collection architectures and platforms such as Islandora, DSpace, CONTENTdm, and/or other repository tools

  • Demonstrated knowledge of metadata schemes including Dublin Core, MODS, METS, PREMIS

  • Demonstrated knowledge of digital preservation best practices and standards

  • Competent understanding of records management theory and practice

  • Strong evidence of collaborating with multi-stakeholder teams with internal and external resources

  • Outreach to internal staff on best practices for electronic records management, especially email

  • Demonstrated leadership and skills in project management and problem solving

  • Creates and implements strategies for records storage, security, longevity, and ongoing preservation.

  • Develops long-term plans for electronic records management, including standards and guidelines, based on institutional goals.

  • Implements training and awareness programs to enlighten employees on how to handle records in accordance with a company’s policies and guidelines.

  • Maintains awareness and knowledge of developments within the electronic records management industry

  • Act as an ambassador for the Records and Documents Administration section within Denver Water

  • Master of Librarian and Information Science/Master of Library of Science preferred.

  • Perform related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications for Records Management Analyst

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Records Management, Archive Administration, History, Public Administration, Government, American Studies or a related field.

  • Minimum 5 years of related work experience.

  • Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.

Licenses, Registration, and Certification:

  • May require HIPAA Training.

  • Certified Records Manager (CRM) or Certified Archivist (CA) desirable.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Research and analysis.

  • Verbal and written communication.

  • Presentation, organization and time management skills.

  • Taxonomy, metadata and file plan design.

  • Negotiation and collaboration.
