Application Procedure for Fire Line and Large Domestic Tap Installation by Pre-Qualified Contractors, Inside Denver/Total Service Areas
Note: All taps in downtown Denver will be estimated and installed by Denver Water
Step 1. Engineer Submits
- A 24" X 36" drawing to Sales Administration.
- Including Fire Line Construction Notes, Fire Line Detail, Trench Detail, Kick Block Detail, Mega Lug Detail, Length of Restrained Pipe Detail, Meter Notes and Meter Details.
- Showing existing valves on main, outdistance of existing main and distance to next cross street property line.
- Showing distance from valves to fire line fitting (for shut-out purposes).
- An AutoCAD Drawing.
- A completed Fire Line and Large Connection Demand Form.
- $450 review fee, $510 inspection fee and $1.25 per sheet for approved sets of plans.
- Water Supply License for fire line and Stub-In Agreement for domestic tap if applicable.
Step 2. Once the application is approved by Denver Water, Sales Administration assigns a tap number to the Water Supply License.
Step 3. Engineer Submits:
- Final PE set including tap number.
- A signed Acknowledgment Letter and approved waterline contractor's Bond, Certificate of Insurance & Proof of Workmen's Compensation.
- Final AutoCAD Drawing.
