Denver Water names Prescott Coleman head of internal audit

Aug. 03, 2009 - With more than 20 years of experience in audit, analysis and consulting, Prescott Coleman has been appointed manager of internal audit for Denver Water. Coleman and his staff will analyze day-to-day operations and evaluate Denver Water’s risk management, internal control and governance processes.

Coleman holds a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts from Austin College in Sherman, Texas, and an M.B.A. from Colorado State University in Fort Collins. Coleman is a certified internal auditor (CIA) and a certified information systems auditor (CISA). Coleman is also a frequent public speaker and presenter on internal audit and organizational strategies.

Chips Barry, manager of Denver Water, said: “Every public utility needs to account for how money is spent and how assets are protected. We are proud to have a new internal auditor that brings a wealth of knowledge on risk-based auditing and designing systems that protect public assets.”
