Water cannot be used at a premise before the service connection is made and a meter is set, unless the applicant has been issued a water supply license and has paid the construction water use fee.
In order to use water for construction purposes at a licensed premise, Denver Water requires the licensee to pay a fee before the time a meter can be properly set. Once the construction water use fee has been paid, the premise can receive unmetered water service for construction use only during the time period between installation of the tap connection and initial meter installation. This water use is for construction purposes only — the property may not be landscaped or occupied without a Denver Water-approved meter in line.
More information on construction water use can be found in Denver Water’s Operating Rules.
