Gross Dam Road and Highway 72 new intersection alignment opening

On June 26, Kiewit Barnard opened the new alignment for the Gross Dam Road and Highway 72 intersection. Over the next few weeks, crews will complete the final components of the intersection, which include closing the old intersection alignment and demobilizing equipment from the area.

Beginning June 28, all Gross Reservoir Expansion Project traffic, including construction crews and deliveries, will be directed to use the new intersection alignment to travel to the project site. We will also place electronic signage along Highway 72 to direct drivers to the Gross Dam Road intersection.

Denver Water and its contractor, Kiewit Barnard, thank the public and neighbors for your patience during the work to complete improvements at the intersection of Gross Dam Road and Highway 72.

There are ongoing roadway improvements taking place along Gross Dam Road through the summer. Please continue to use caution while driving in the area and abide by all onsite personnel instructions.
