Heavy equipment to travel to Gross Reservoir Expansion Project site

March 28, 2022 – Between March 28 and April 2, weather permitting, Kiewit Barnard Joint Venture will mobilize large equipment to the Gross Reservoir Expansion Project site. This activity will consist of a maximum of four caravans over the course of two nights. Each caravan will include up to five pieces of heavy equipment, plus pilot vehicles. The caravans will travel Highway 72 to Gross Dam Road and from Gross Dam Road to the construction site.

To minimize disruptions to people traveling through the canyon, the mobilization will take place at night, from approximately 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. These caravans are slow moving, with a maximum speed of 25 mph on Highway 72 and 15 mph on Gross Dam Road. If you are on the road during these times, please stay safe: watch for pilot cars, equipment and trucks, and do not pass the caravans.
