Anglers and campers can rejoice: Antero Reservoir will open for camping and modified fishing at 9 a.m. on Monday, June 5. The area been closed since 2015 to accommodate an extensive repair project on the 108-year-old Antero Dam.

Only shore angling, kayaks, belly boats, float tubes and canoes will be permitted until further notice. Watercraft cannot be launched from a trailer, or use gas, diesel or electric motors. While the reservoir will be open, recreationists will still see construction activity on the south side of the reservoir as Denver Water works on the final phase of the dam rehabilitation project.
